Lancaster University

Candace Davies is Head of Accommodation at Lancaster University and a qualified housing professional working in student housing management since 2000.

She leads a team of staff who are committed to ensuring that postgraduate and undergraduate students have access to quality, safe, accessible and inclusive campus accommodation. The team provide a full range of accommodation services to 6700 residential students and have been rewarded for their efforts over the years with a number of awards in the Global Student Living Index and the WhatUni Choice Awards. She also leads on ensuring that the service is profitable, whilst providing value for money.

With an eye on the wider student community though Candace is also responsible for the Lancaster University Homes off campus accommodation accreditation scheme which was launched in 2015. Instrumental in the development of the original scheme she takes satisfaction from seeing it achieve year on year growth. Most importantly though the success of the scheme comes down to working with the local authority, purpose built and private rented sector landlords who share the same vision to continuously improve accommodation standards in the city centre for Lancaster students.
