Irina Stamate-Rocha is a Partner at Patron Capital, where she is responsible for sourcing, executing and managing investments across a range of sectors and European markets. Since joining the firm in 2011, she has played a key role in a number of Patron's investments in student accommodation, healthcare and education, including the development of its UK purpose-built student accommodation portfolio and investments in healthcare real estate and independent schools.
During her time at Patron, Irina has been instrumental in the development of Patron's UK student housing portfolio in joint venture with Curation Capital, which now holds more than 1,800 beds across seven PBSA assets in key Russell Group university locations.
By focusing on assets and locations that meet genuine student requirements and for which there is a significant supply shortage, rather than the premium end of the market, Irina has helped build a resilient portfolio of income-producing assets. Alongside this, Irina led Patron's first deal in Sweden, acquiring a portfolio of 62 healthcare assets, as well as its investment into Wishford Schools to support the development and expansion of the group, which comprises nine private schools and two nurseries.
Prior to joining Patron, Irina worked in investment banking at Rothschild, Macquarie Capital Advisers and Fortis Bank (Brussels). Her experience includes the origination and execution of transactions for private equity and infrastructure funds. She holds a master's degree in finance from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and a bachelor's degree in economics from the Academy of Economics, Bucharest.
