In a 16-year sporting career Tanni won 16 Parlympic medals, held 30 world records and won the London Wheelchair Marathon six times. Current roles include chairmanship of UK Active and membership of the boards of the London Marathon, Transport for London and the London Legacy Development Corporation. She still plays an active role in sports administration and, in 2010, was appointed to the House of Lords as a non-party political cross bench peer.
