Q. Why do you think it’s important for individuals across the sector to come together at Property Week’s Student Accommodation Conference? Collaboration shouldn’t just be a buzzword; it should mean taking action and making the sector better and more innovative. We can achieve that by ensuring different people from different backgrounds with different expertise all come together at Property Week’s Student Accommodation Conference.

Q. What insights are you most excited to share in your session and why?

In my session, I am keen to share what the impact on the customer might be post-election as there are some brilliant people sharing the stage who will bring different perspectives.

Q.If you could describe the student accommodation market over the past year in a short sentence, what would it be? The last year has been challenging for the sector but also signified things need to change, and what better catalyst for that than everyone in the sector getting together.

Q. What do you hope to see change in the industry over the next year?

Over the next year, I would like to see the sector look 5 – 10 years ahead and work on strategies that will have a longer view than just the next academic cycle. Students, the environment, the world around us, technology and people are all changing and therefore so should the sector. So I don’t expect much tangible to change in 12 months but I would like to get a sense that plans are in place to reset and innovate.
